PLEASE HELP HANDY LADIES FEED OUR COMMUNITY

Handy Ladies Feeding the Community are desperately asking for donations so we can continue to cook free meals and make up food parcels to deliver to the forgotten people in our community. People who may be elderly, vulnerable, living with physical or mental illness, low or no income, young and old, end of life, self-isolating, and much more.
We cover Stockport and all surrounding areas as far as we can.
We have heard the most harrowing stories of people who have been living on just bread and water for months. People who are so poorly they cannot cook for themselves and have not eaten a meal for days. Parents going without food to make sure their children eat. The list is endless and it breaks our hearts every day.
We have recently been Joined by Mark and Paul of Richard Lloyd Ltd, who have very kindly paid for premises for 3 years but we still need donations to buy the food to make these meals. We also pay out for utilities
Every penny counts in these difficult times, as there are people in desperate need of our help and the numbers are growing daily.
We started with 13 meals a day on the 1st of April 2020 and are now currently providing over 220 meals a day.
We get referrals from organisations and from the public, as so many people are struggling to survive for one reason or another. We run purely on your kind donations but our money is running out due to the increase in help needed in the community.
We are also asking if any community bakers could possibly donate cakes to us, so we can send a nice treat with the meals.
Other items that we also need are donations of new containers of all sizes, plastic or paper bags, or anything else to pack meals in. This is a huge expense as every meal has to be packed.
We have a fantastic bank of volunteers who make this all happen but we are always looking for extra help. If you can deliver meals,or help with packing meals we would welcome you.
