Help Trans Black Muslim Queer Secure Safety

Hello Community! We are fundraising on behalf of our friend Ash Farah’s to obtain secure transportation and housing to avoid any further street harassment for his identities. We are some of Ash’s close friends. We came up with the idea to crowdfund him some funds so he can purchase a safe reliable vehicle and pay for housing. The reason why we are asking for donation towards car purchase fund is due to the harsh reality of being an outed Black trans person. Our friend Ash has encountered numerous transphobic attacks throughout his life. Whether it is from walking, public transportation, or biking. These incidents still occur. In the LGBTQ community, safety is something that we still strive for and just want some peace of mind. To Ash owning a car not only ensures his safety and welling, but as well as restore power to his identity. For those who are learning about Ash. Ash is a young Black trans student at Augsburg University and LGBTQ activist. Those alone keep him busy but along with that, he’s also a care taker for his family. He is the oldest in his Somali immigrant household and juggles with helping out and paying his own household bills. Ash is also a loyal and dependable friend to us all. Not only has he offered his love but he has found resources for us and helped out through our own problems. His contribution to the community has been consistent and you can track it back to when he was in high school. From helping lead local to school organizations, crowdsourcing for food drives, doing encampment supply runs, mentoring queer youth, offering housing for other muslim queers and even volunteering as a protest medic during these pandemic times. For Ash, this is more than a car and support for housing. In the past he has asked friends and community members for rides for food drives, transporting supplies, and transportation. He also offers his space as a safe house for black queer youth. This is something that Ash will continue to provide. We know that Ash's network is big and loving but his financial situation says otherwise. This is due to him being selfless and always putting others ahead of him. Please help us remind Ash why he deserves this and more. 8,000 for a used car 1,000 for gofundme fees/taxes 1,000 car title/insurance 7,000 for housing fees (3000 fall, 4000 next). TOTAL: 17,000
