Help Rising Stars Youth & Community Group to raise much needed funds to support young people to broaden their horizons……


Rising Stars has been serving the community since 2006.  The aim of the group is to organise, arrange and run social, sporting and recreational activities and events for the local community in and around the Greater Foleshill area of Coventry.  The group although open to all, has a specific focus on the Muslim community, particularly young people within the area. 


Issues faced by Muslim youth in inner city areas is well documented, as well as the pressures faced by all young people, they face increased levels of racism, knife crimes, gang pressures, radicalisation, county lines influences and Islamophobia.


The following group of young people from the community ( Zaheem Maqsood , Shahzor Ali Jawaid , Shoaib Mahmood , Imran Farooq , Sufyaan Dawood , Khaleel Ashique, Seif Salim , Said Salim , Shabaz Hussain ,  Seraj Errabou , Malick N'daye , Jibril N'daye  , Suleman Mota , Noor Mohammed , Mohammed Fouani , Mohammed Ashfaq ) have embarked upon training to complete the National 3 Peaks Challenge during the August 2020 Bank Holiday.

The National Three Peaks Challenge involves climbing the three highest peaks of Scotland, England and Wales (Ben Nevis, Scafell Pike & Snowdon), within 24 hours. The total walking distance is 23 miles and the total ascent is 10,052ft. It is acknowledged as one of the toughest hiking challenges around.  Most of the participants have no previous experience of climbing or hiking!


The group hope to raise £5000 to contribute towards activities and events to guide young people away from negative influences and to pursue life changing opportunities and making a positive impact in their communities.
