The Mr. Dad’s Father’s Club Community Garden

Joseph Williams founder and father of five from Bronzeville created Mr. Dad’s Father’s Club in 2017 to help Southside fathers become active in the community and in their kids' lives. Since then, his program has been present in various schools increasing GPA’s and confidence of inner city children all over Chicago.

While still maintaining this program, Joseph has decided to branch beyond book reading and has the vision to provide a safe haven and community garden for families to enjoy daily. Locals will be able to come and enjoy live music, learn how to grow and maintain a garden, and enjoy free fresh fruits and vegetables grown right there locally. His hopes are to help promote healthy eating and a healthy lifestyle for Chicago’s locals and of course, “MDFC’s Read-a-Book in the Park” events for fathers to be able to read great stories to the local kids to help continue to spark of imagination and confidence building.

Please consider donating for this amazing space that will provide everything free to the community. Your donations will help with the purchase of materials needed to start our garden, build our stage and sound for live music and help put on free events at our space. Our space will be located at 12125 S Halsted.

We thank you in advance and hope to see you visit the Mr. Dad’s Father’s Club Community Garden when it’s up and running Spring/Summer 2021!
