Veteran Nicholaus Hale, Save a Warrior (SAW)

An 800-mile bicycle ride in gratitude for my life today as a formerly deployed veteran who was 'saved' by the Save A Warrior program (SAW).  Your sponsorship will save many more lives.

Hello, my name is Nick Hale. I am a 35-year-old United States Army Combat Veteran with combat deployments to Iraq and two to Afghanistan.  With a departure date of September 1, 2020, fellow Save A Warrior (SAW) Graduate and 2-508 PIR member, Delbert (who also fights Muscular Dystrophy) and I will begin an ~ 800-mile bicycle ride from Tallahassee, Florida to Warrior Village, Columbus, Ohio. The mission of the ride is to draw attention to SAW and better educate people we meet along the way about its invaluable work to support veterans. The trip will also provide those riding an opportunity for physical, mental, and spiritual recovery.  To make the trip possible, we must raise funds through personal contributions.

As you may well imagine, the current COVID-19 pandemic has triggered symptoms of PTSD in veterans in ways that one would never imagine.  In early July of this year, my good friend made national news as the 30th soldier from our Army Unit to commit suicide. I wish so deeply that I could have reached out to these 'brothers' before it was too late. This is an epidemic that is running rampant through the veteran and first-responder community.

SAW is committed to ending the staggering suicide rate plaguing our veterans, active-duty military, and first responders. We conceive, originate, and produce Integrative Intensive Retreat (IIR) program experiences to transform the way our heroes live their lives. Please visit saveawarrior.org, where you can find more information about the program that 'saved' my life and the lives of many others.

I am currently an employee of Artistry in Plants, whose mission, through garden design and teaching botanical health, aims to promote healing  and to reconnect people to Mother Nature. Most importantly, I am a father to three sons, Bryson (10), Benjamin (8), and Blake (2). Your support will help  me and others like me continue to be the best caregivers and role models we can be - every day.

"Thank you for your consideration, and best regards!"
