Top Surgery for Mikah

Hello! My name is Mikah Amani, I am a transgender man who uses he/him pronouns, and I created this GoFundMe to support my top surgery expenses.

At around 9 or 10 years old, I remember distinctly feeling that if I developed a chest traditionally associated with female puberty, I would no longer be myself. This feeling was affirmed in the coming years. At 17, when I bought my first binder, the years of feeling alienated in my body, no matter what stereotype I tried to fit into, started to make sense. 

I've known since then that top surgery would alleviate much of my dysphoria and affirm me in so many ways, many of which I probably can't even fathom yet. This campaign is the first step in allowing myself that relief and happiness.

Below is a short breakdown of the expenses of my top surgery:

First $1000 - reserving a top surgery date
$8000 - surgeon's fee
$3000 - hospital fee (anesthesia, etc.)

I would love to be able to get top surgery during the first six months of 2021. Once I receive enough donations to reserve a date, I will give an update on this platform and on other social media platforms, and will continue to do so as the date approaches.
