We are deeply saddened to share that our mother suddenly passed away on August 1st. Due to expenses, we are unable to hold a formal funeral service at this time, but we plan to have a memorial in the near future. Even with cremation and minimal needs for end of life services, we are struggling to cover the immediate expenses for services, removal of belongings, and housing for her son, which is estimated to be around $5,000-$6,000. Every little bit helps us as we work to take care of needs while grieving this significant loss in our family. She is survived by us (her children) and two younger brothers, Donald Robert Jr. & Peter.
Our mother dedicated her life to making sure we were taken care of, often at the sacrifice of her own needs. We want to make sure she's honored properly and that we are able to take care of the final expenses, as she would want things to be as smooth as possible.
She worked incredibly hard to take care of us, but always found ways to make others laugh, feel inspired, and find joy in the little things. She was the kind of person you could enjoy a drink with, watch a funny show with, and share your life stories with.
This money will assist with the following immediate needs:
- Cremation expenses (including death certificates, cremation services, urn, etc.)
- The removal of discarded/damaged belongings from her home
- The temporary storage of keepsakes (via a local storage unit)
- Moving expenses (the rental lease needs to be broken & new housing arrangements need to be made for her son, Jason, who was directly taking care of her until her passing)
-Additional expenses that are not immediately anticipated (including storage supplies, movers, etc.)
Additional things these funds will assist with:
- Planning her memorial service, which will take place once it is safe for family and friends to congregate.
- To be laid to rest in the cemetery where her parents are laid to rest
