The Problem
College students struggle to pay for college textbooks and online homework systems. In addition, instructors are not finding quality educational aids that best fit the students’ needs, and have difficulties in building a class from scratch. The time-consuming process making lesson plans, creating assessments, etc. can pose issues for some professors.
Who We Are
Helpyourmath is a team of volunteers consisting of: instructors, tutors, and students. The Helpyourmath team collaborates with two-year colleges to create the resources needed for students to pass their math courses and stay on track to finish their degree. By working directly with instructors and students, we are able to create customizable lecture videos, notes, examples, and quizzes for prerequisite and upper level mathematics courses based on the departmental curricula.
Our Solution
We manage an online homework system that provides a mixture of multiple-choice questions and fill-in-the-blank questions; professors can check students’ scores as work is completed. Students can access these services for free.
Our videos allow students to review their in-class lectures at their convenience. Additional examples and quiz questions are provided to help students gain the confidence and experience to succeed in their math classes.
Furthermore, because our content directly reflects to what is being taught in class, tutors and instructors can use our website to better identify the areas in which their students need the most help. Students can test themselves at home and come prepared with more specific questions – making tutoring more efficient and comprehensive.
