Its Starts from Me!

The 2nd Edition of the “It starts from me ending Sexual Violence in my Community “ is an initiative by www.networkofhopeandempowerment.org  (N4SHE) Against Rape  dedicated to combating sexual violence and raising awareness about the prevalence of rape and sexual assault in our communities.
Please help us make this 2020 event a success by contributing to our fundraising campaign.

About the Event

The 2nd edition will take place in different locations of Cameroon were events will be hosted including solidarity walks.
The program is organized as a follow up on our last year edition and will include opportunities for survivors, victims, and others affected by sexual violence to share their stories and speak out against rape, sexual assault, and domestic violence, and will end with a solidarity walk. People of all genders, ages, races, religions, and backgrounds are welcome to attend.
While the “Take Back The Night” first appeared in Europe in 1976 and has continued throughout the world as a sign of empowerment for women, men, and children. We need to normalize the conversation in our communities so victims can speak up and perpetrators brought to book in a society were it is a taboo.

About the Project

It starts from me ending rape is grassroots, community-action project supported by community members, hospitals and organizations, anti-rape advocates, and community leaders who want to live and work in communities free from sexual assault, rape, and other forms of violence.
The mission of N4SHE with regards to sexual assault has two folds:
To provide services and support to those affected by sexual violence/rape and related forms of violence, and
To provide education and leadership within the community to change the societal conditions that promote these forms of violence.
