Help Elie Keep His Home ❤️

UPDATE: Thank you so much to everyone who donated. We were able to reach the initial goal we set of $2500, but we are still accepting donations. Elie did unfortunately get evicted from his home, but he was able to move into a new place with the money we raised from this. I’ve added a link with the local news coverage on Elie’s story. Hi Everyone, I’m hoping to raise money for my dear neighbor, Elie. He is facing eviction if he cannot come up with his entire past-due rent that he was not able to pay during Covid. He works as a Massage Therapist and has been with Massage Envy for 11 years. He has a sweet little girl, Evie, and a dog named Luna. Colorado’s eviction protection ended on June 15th, and the apartment complex we live in told him he had only a few days to come up with all the rent he owes or he will face eviction. He has a lawyer working on this since what they are doing is illegal. They provided him no written notice, are not allowing him the 30 day notice that’s required by state law, and they are not willing to offer him a payment plan to get caught up. Elie is one of the best neighbors I’ve ever had...he always has a smile on his face and is willing to lend a helping hand whenever he can. We’ve recently had some car and garage break-ins, and Elie took it upon himself to patrol the neighborhood at night hoping to ensure that we are all safe. If he does get evicted, it’s possible he’ll have to relocate back to Florida where he’ll be so far from his daughter. He still worked for Lyft and did what he could while Covid was happening, but it wasn’t enough to keep up with the cost of living here in Colorado. Anything you can do to help will be appreciated.
