Support for Gabot Family

My much awaited reunion with my family turned out to be my worst nightmare. 

It all started when I went back to the Philippines from Singapore for good after 5 years of working there. As I was waiting for the result of my swab test in my assigned hotel for quarantine, my Dad started to feel pain in his stomach, slight fever with shortness of breath so I decided to have him checked in the hospital. At the ER, my Dad's condition went for the worse so the doctors decided to admit him so they can monitor and also to have him tested for Covid 19 since his symptoms are consistent with it. And unfortunately, Covid 19 test turned out positive. 

Days passed and my Dad's condition and breathing worsened despite the initial management/treatments (oxygenation via nasal cannula, hiflow, cpap/bipap, medications, dialysis) given to him by the doctors. He’s short of breath all the time, struggling with breathing, dyspneic and tachypneic, cannot maintain an oxygen saturation of atleast 90 percent,  and they decided to put him on a mechanical ventilator which was a last resort. Since it’s an invasive procedure my dad felt uncomfortable at first, but then no choice because it’s the one helping him breathe. My dad is a high risk, since he has a history of pneumonia on and off and he’s almost 60 years old. I am so stressed and tired thinking of how he will respond to the treatments and medications. Just praying for strength and lifting it up to the Lord.

Now my dad is breathing thru a machine and will depend on it for a time being, as advised by the doctors. I can see how he is struggling and battling the disease, and it breaks my heart.

Since my dad tested positive for Covid 19, my concern is the whole family- my mom and my sisblings who are all living together at home, they are all exposed. So my mom and my siblings got tested for Covid 19. I am extremely anxious and afraid what might the results be. Praying and staying strong for my family. But sadly, all of them turned out Covid 19 positive as well. My world fell apart,  I felt devastated. 

My Mom had to be admitted for close monitoring. She’s having difficulty of breathing, was put on oxygen and given antibiotics. My brother and sister have dry cough and on and off fever. It’s frustrating, I can’t accept the fact that both my parents, and even my siblings are Covid 19 positive. I can’t withstand the situation, but I need to be strong for them at this difficult and challenging time. I was thinking and praying that Lord, is this my role why you sent me back home? Please be with me in this trial. 

So going back, as days went by,  our hospital bills started piling up, our running bill is already 1.8 million pesos, no physician fees included yet. Our combined financial capacity cannot cover all of it. I exhausted my little savings I brought home from work, my mom and dad’s savings are all used up. With this, I am humbly knocking at your hearts, please pray for our family’s healing, strength, speedy recovery and financial blessings. We are asking for a helping hand for the hospital expenses of my family for the ongoing support and treatment they need to fight Covid 19. Any amount is a lot of help and will be appreciated.
