PressBay’s Food Hub and Pantry are a COVID-inspired, local food centered response to food insecurity in downtown Ithaca.
Since March 2020 the Food Hub has offered a convenient way for people to access fresh locally produced food.
Each Monday the Hub hosts a free choice, foot accessible, open-to-all Food Pantry in partnership with Friendship Donation Network. Through the Pantry the Hub helps FDN rescue and share fresh, organic produce, prepared side dishes, dairy and meat from Ithaca Farmers Market, Greenstar Co-op, Lively Run Dairy, Wegmans and Plenty of Posies.
Every Thursday the Hub safely aggregates and distributes pre-ordered local farm food direct to customers, free of charge.
On Sundays volunteers manage Healthy Food For All’s subsidized CSA pick up of farm-fresh produce to low income households, regardless of income and ability to pay.

PressBay Food Hub is a project of Urban Core (John Guttridge, David Kuckuk and Melissa Madden). Since March 2020, Urban Core has funded and operated the Food Hub with tremendous help from committed volunteers alongside Urban Core staff.
Our ask!
We need to raise $25,000 to help offset the cost of taxes, insurance, and utilities for the remainder of 2020 and to start paying our regular volunteers who make all of this possible.
Your support now will have a long-term impact by allowing us to cover operating costs with uninterrupted service during this critical time. For the rest of 2020 we will work to secure more stable funding for the next five years through non-profit agricultural partnership and local and national grants.
