Help My Mom Beat Cancer!

Donation protected

Dear friends and family,

On July 10th, 2020, my mom was diagnosed with Stage 4 Thymoma cancer. This rare form of cancer causes tumors to grow on the thymus. In my mom’s case, it has rapidly spread from her upper chest to her lungs. For the past 4 months, my mom has been experiencing dry coughs, loss of appetite/vomiting, extreme weight loss, fatigue/weakness, and difficulty breathing. Prior to cancer, she was a very healthy, energetic person who lived by herself and would go on walks every day. However, her conditions changed and deteriorated very quickly in a short amount of time. She has lost the ability to cook, dress, and even bathe herself, requiring assistance and care 24/7. Soon after my mom was diagnosed, we made a major decision to travel back to her homeland, Thailand. Since I am her only immediate family in the U.S. that she has, we thought it would be best for her to be surrounded by loved ones while receiving treatment. After 17 hours of travel, we arrived in Thailand and due to my mom’s conditions, she was immediately hospitalized. We’ve been spending mandatory quarantine at the hospital, and the doctors will not be able to start treatment until after the two-week quarantine.

This rare form of cancer makes up less than 400 cases a year in the United States, but fortunately, there are treatment options available. She has been recommended to begin chemotherapy ASAP due the aggressive nature of this cancer. Chemotherapy treatment will cost over $150,000, on top of ICU treatment and travel expenses.

Growing up with a single mom, I had a modest upbringing and we managed to get by. Unfortunately, I recently lost my job due to COVID-19 and my mom hasn’t been able to work due to her illness. Your donations will help alleviate some of the financial burden that we all know comes with medical treatments. We estimate the final total cost to be way more than the desired goal, but any amount will help immensely.

My mom is my biggest supporter and my #1 fan in everything that I do in life. She’s more than just a mom, she’s my best friend. Growing up, she made every sacrifice possible to provide me with the best life possible and it’s always been my life goal to repay her for everything she has done for me. I want to make her proud and feel as if all her hard work has paid off, and for her to finally realize how great of a mother she truly is. The doctors say my mom has 1-3 years left, but I’m hopeful and optimistic. My mom is a fighter and I have no doubt that she will make it through.

Thank you so much in advance. Your monetary support, however big or small, is greatly appreciated. We also appreciate any spiritual support in whatever form that may be.
