Help Drew buy headsets for local learners in need!

UPDATE:

Hi everyone! 8/18/2020 was a big day! Drew delivered the first round of headsets to the local Boy’s and Girl’s Club. It was great for him to meet a couple of the sweet kids that will be using the headsets and be able to see the facility and the good it does for kids in our community EACH DAY. The people there are angels that you can tell love their jobs and love making a difference in people’s lives. As of 8/19/2020, Drew raised $2848.00!!!!! He has bought a total of 259 headsets (and will be able to place a small 3rd order with the remaining money). Zaza (his sister) joined in to help label 100 of them so that each kid at the Boy’s and Girl’s Club can have their own set and there won’t be sharing of headsets (or germs!). We will be ending the campaign for headsets today, but if any additional funds come in, they will promptly be given to the Salvation Army to help better provide remote learning at the Center of Hope (local homeless shelter) and Boy’s and Girl’s Club. Thank you again for everyone’s support through this! It’s awesome to see kids realize that they can do something - even though they are “just kids”. ❤️

Hi! My name is Drew Davis.  I live in Winston-Salem, NC and I am going into the 7th grade.

Where I live, our public schools are doing remote learning for at least 9 weeks to start the school year.  The schools recommended that each student should have headphones with a microphone for their online learning but unfortunately there are many kids in my community that can’t afford them.

A few days ago, my mom got an e-mail from The Salvation Army saying there was a great need for at least 100 of these headsets so students can hear and participate in their online lessons this year.  I decided I wanted to help!!  It is my goal to raise enough money to buy all 100 of them.

With my mom, we talked to the school district to find out which headphones would work best with the Chromebooks that would be distributed to each student (Chromebooks are like laptops).  Then, we called the company that makes the headsets to find out what is in stock and the price for 100 of them.

I found out that I need just over $1000 dollars to get 100 quality headsets sent here.  The company can have them here in 3 business days once they are ordered.

If you are able, I would really really appreciate any help for me to meet my goal of buying 100 headsets.  We have set up a Go Fund me page where  you can send donations.  If you are local I can come pick up a donation if you would prefer.
Because school is starting so soon, my goal is to order these on Friday, August 14th – so I only have a few days to meet a big goal but I really think we can do it. Any amount that you might donate will help and I know it can make a difference to many kids in my area.

Thank you so much!!!!
