In Memory of Suzanne Karrer

Donation protected

On 6 August, 2020 before midnight, Suzanne Karrer was taken to the hospital in an ambulance due to a strong headache that was causing her to nearly lose consciousness.  Things went quickly downhill from there.  She had a stroke and was put on a ventilator and then an aneurysm in the brain required immediate surgery on Friday morning, 7 August.  Martin was informed by the neurosurgeon that Suzanne only had a 20% survival rate.  By Friday afternoon, Martin was informed that Suzanne was likely to move towards brain death. On 8 August, Martin informed his small groups that they were moving toward end-of-life pursuing organ donation.  At 4:10pm, Martin sent word that Suzanne went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on 8 Aug, 2020.  The significance of this day, 8 August, in some Asia regions is "Father's Day" so we welcome the opportunity to celebrate Suzanne's life with her Abba Father in Heaven.

Suzanne was a loving and devoted daughter to her mother, Josephine Korzenko. She loved her husband and was a supportive wife to Martin Karrer while being an adoring mother and an example of faith to her daughter, Serena. For all of us who knew her, she was a dear friend who authentically cared, gave generously and loved deeply. Suzanne was passionate about her faith and she lived it out loud every day.

Her passion for teaching in Asia and building relationships yielded many accolades, pupils and loving memories. Her fond memories of her time in Asia was woven into her core values and in her daily life. As a final gift of love and generosity, Suzanne's organs were donated to give others a new lease on life. We will dearly miss her beautiful smiles, warm hugs and her love for Jesus.

On her last day at home, Suzanne wrote out this Bible verse on the family blackboard... "So do not fear, for I AM with you, Do not be discouraged for I AM your God, I will strengthen you + help you. I will uphold you with my righteous right hand!" Isaiah 41:10.

Money is being raised to cover medical & funeral expenses and future college expenses for Serena, etc.
