A Safe Space for The Black Community

If the Black community do not start to create our own resources, we're afraid that oppression will continue in our time, the era of our children and beyond.
This is why we created the Black Empowerment (BLKEM) website.
We understand the need to have a safe space in the online arena for many Black people who are affected by online discrimination, cyber-racism, racial injustice, pay inequality, silencing of our voices, and the disabling of our profiles. A safe space away from social platforms that continue to perpetuate the systems of oppression and away from platforms that do nothing for our communities.
We also understand the need to circulate our capital within our communities so that we can begin to create resources and help build our communities. Resources such as buying land, attorney fees, access to mental health wellness, businesses, real estate etc.
Blkem's aim is to provide an online social media platform that Black people can go to and discuss relevant information in the community. This includes creating a one stop shop for Black needs such as focus groups to work on specific issues, workshops to highlight any areas of deficiencies among our people, Financial literacy and so forth.
We currently have a growing online community but we need to expand in areas of mobile applications, beneficial features to keep the community functioning, ability to hire marketers and developers to assist in the expansion, and as the website is growing we need our own dedicated servers to keep website functioning smoothly.
Although this is currently for the Black community, we have allies that also want to show support so we need to create an extension of Blkem to bring our allies on board.
This is a call to action for black people's wellbeing and we need your help to assist us with overcoming any barriers so we can create resources and access.
We are a three (3) person team with day jobs, so with your help we can expand our team and get those beneficial elements completed faster.
This is no little accomplishment and we need you to get this going as our lives depends on us becoming self-sufficient and not dependent on a system that continues to keep us comfortable.
