Helping Yoppi recover with PTSD after a trauma!
My name is Charlie and I am posting this on behalf of my fun and loving dog friend, Yoppi! She lost her dad in a fatal car accident last week. They were on their morning walk crossing the street when struck by a car that ran the red light and killed Yoppi’s dad! Miraculously, Yoppi survived but she is terribly traumatized.
She had to be seen at urgent care/ER to rule out internal injuries and anything else since she was limping when the police brought her home and her paw pads were bleeding. She was alone and with strangers before getting home safely to her family. Poor traumatized Yoppi took off immediately after the accident...
Our playful, active and smart Yoppi hasn’t been herself ever since she lost her dad in the accident and has been suffering from PTSD. She avoids doing things she used to be very enthusiastic about, and doesn’t even leave the house for a short walk unless they carry her out... Recovery from PTSD is a gradual, ongoing process. Healing doesn’t happen overnight, nor do the memories of the trauma ever disappear completely.
We are very concerned about her physical and mental health so we have signed her up for daily Rehabilitation Sessions for a few weeks so she can hopefully regain her confidence and heal emotionally and physically. Many of our friends asked to chip in to help Yoppi recover as quickly as possible. We would be grateful if you consider contributing to this cause and help Yoppi as well. The funds will be used to pay off vet bills and her rehabilitation classes will approximately cost $10,000. No contribution amount is too small and we thank you for your generosity.
