Garcia Family Lost Home in Vacaville Fire

Donation protected
The Garcia Family lost their family home to the LNU Complex Vacaville fire on Wednesday, August 19, 2020.  In the haste of evacuating, they were unable to pack any clothes and are impacted negatively by this tragic experience.  They only have what they took with them when they fled: the clothes they were wearing, passports, and pets.  However, they lost years of irreplaceable memories.

The good news is that their horses that they thought were lost have been found, but they are in need of veterinary care.

The Garcia family lost EVERYTHING: a 21-acre ranch, detached studio house, four cars, a detached garage, farming equipment, barn, and pool.

This is all that's left of the house

The remains of the barn

Melted fence allowed the horses to escape the flames

Destroyed farm equipment

Jane is sad about the loss of the pictures of grandkids, kids, friends, and relatives.  Allyson is distraught/concerned about the horses, lost pictures, and birthday cards she had saved since seventh grade.

CAN YOU HELP THE GARCIA FAMILY DURING THIS TRAGIC TIME?

Any monetary donations will be much appreciated to help the Garcia family to restart their new life and to rebuild their property.  Anything will help!

If you are unable to donate, please email Allyson pictures of any happy memory she has shared with you.  She lost all her photos and birthday cards that she had saved since seventh grade; she holds these memories dear to her heart.

THANK YOU!!

ABOUT THE FAMILY:

Allyson and I went to Pacifica Graduate School together.  She's currently an addiction counselor and mental health therapist.  She went into the therapy field to help women suffering from domestic violence, the addiction field to help others recover from drugs as she has, and the mental health field to help those recover from PTSD, especially combat veterans.

Allyson was the first in her family to obtain a Master's degree as a first-generation student, despite the odds of addiction, two past traumatic brain injuries, and multiple spinal procedures from two separate car accidents in 2015.

Benjamin and Jane immigrated to America from the Philippines in pursuit of more opportunities.  Jane was an ICU nurse at Kaiser Permanente and Benjamin served in the Navy for 23 years.  Benjamin retired as a highly decorated Master Chief Electrician Mate E9 and served in the military in Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and the Vietnam War.  Sadly, he lost all his military medals.
