Gramma Anna’s Home a Complete Loss - LNU Fire
What you see above is my grandparent’s home on Pleasants Valley Road in Vacaville, California. Their home was a complete loss, along with their detached garage, and a beautiful historic barn that was also on the property. The cover photo of this fundraiser is the same home, fully engulfed in flames, taken from a local newspaper article. There is also full coverage of their home being overtaken by flames at the following link (the home was at 6223 Pleasants Valley Road): https://www.facebook.com/onfirephotos/videos/611698639538887/
Now the good news: Gramma and Papa are safe! They were not at the property when the fire came down the hill, and our family is so thankful for that. However, this also meant that they were not able to get a single item out of the home before it burnt to the ground. Family photos, antiques, food, blankets, pillows, towels, laundry soap, pet toys and supplies... nothing.
So, while their insurance may cover the large items that are easy to document and list, this fundraiser hope to get Gramma Anna some of the basic survival necessities she and my grandpa will undoubtedly need in the coming weeks, and months, as they figure out how to move forward after this devastating loss of their long time home, and all of their belongings that were in it. Additionally, some of the funding may go toward securing temporary housing for them via hotels, or through a short term rental property.
Anyone who knows Gramma and Papa knows that they were among the most loving, kind, and helpful souls here on earth. Always willing to lend a hand, or a dollar, to anyone who asked (and often times even to those who didn’t ask). Well, I am hoping to return that kindness by easing the burden they now face, and I hope you’ll join me in that mission by donating a few dollars, if you can.
