It is with a heavy heart, and fond memories, that we will be laying our dear daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, aunt and friend to rest in the coming days. Our dear Ruth Noemi Olvera passed away on August 18, 2020 due to complications of COVID-19. Although she made a life in south Texas-- Michigan was always HOME for Ruth, and it was her wish to be buried here—where her parents and siblings live.
Ruth --better known as Nurse Ruthy, was a kind, loving, caring, selfless soul. For over 25 years she cared for others as an RN and absolutely loved her station in life in caring for others. Ever since she was little, Nurse Ruthy dreamed of being just that—a nurse. She worked hard and tirelessly to achieve her dreams and live out her passion for easing the pain of others. Nurse Ruthy’s passion for her profession was easily visible in the halls of the hospital in which she worked. She would sing to her patients, help them to be presentable when their friends and family members came to visit, and did all she could to make them comfortable when they were in pain. Nurse Ruthy was full of grace and love-- not only for her family, but for others, and especially for those placed under her loving care. She shared her love and gift of singing with those around her, her faith in God was unshakable and she used her gifts to help those around her.
In order to assist with Nurse Ruthy’s final wishes of being laid to rest in her home state of Michigan, her family is raising funds to help her children, their families, and her husband make the trip north from south Texas to Michigan to fulfill her wish of coming home. Many of Nurse Ruthy’s family members have been without employment due to the COVID 19 pandemic and now find themselves reeling from the consequences of this horrible virus which has taken the life of their beloved Nurse Ruthy. The family hopes you find it in your hearts to help with travel expenses for the family so they may all make the trip to lay Nurse Ruthy to rest.

Nurse Ruthy is survived by her elderly parents, 5 siblings, 2 sons, 2 granddaughters, her husband, and several nieces and nephews. She was 50 years old when her life was cut short. She will be remembered with love, joy, smiles and full hearts.

We would like to raise funds within the next 2 weeks as our sister body is transferred from Texas to Michigan at her final resting place. Ruth will always be remembered and will live in our hearts.

Es con un gran pesar y buenos recuerdos que estaremos dejando descansar en los próximos días a nuestra querida hija, hermana, madre, abuela, tía y amiga. Nuestra querida Ruth Noemí Olvera falleció el 18 de agosto de 2020 por complicaciones del COVID-19. Aunque se ganó la vida en el sur de Texas, Michigan siempre fue HOGAR para Ruth, y su deseo era ser enterrada aquí, donde viven sus padres y hermanos.
Ruth, mejor conocida como la enfermera Ruthy, era un alma amable, amorosa, cariñosa y desinteresada. Durante más de 25 años se preocupó por los demás como enfermera titulada y amaba absolutamente su posición en la vida en el cuidado de los demás. Desde que era pequeña, la enfermera Ruthy soñaba con ser solo eso, una enfermera. Trabajó duro e incansablemente para lograr sus sueños y vivir su pasión por aliviar el dolor de los demás. La pasión de la enfermera Ruthy por su profesión era fácilmente visible en los pasillos del hospital en el que trabajaba. Cantaba para sus pacientes, los ayudaba a estar presentables cuando sus amigos y familiares venían a visitarlos y hacía todo lo posible para que se sintieran cómodos cuando tenían dolor. La enfermera Ruthy estaba llena de gracia y amor, no solo para su familia, sino para los demás, y especialmente por aquellos que estaban bajo su amoroso cuidado. Compartió su amor y su don de cantar con quienes la rodeaban, su fe en Dios era inquebrantable y usó sus dones para ayudar a quienes la rodeaban.
Para ayudar con los deseos finales de la enfermera Ruthy de descansar en su estado natal de Michigan, su familia está recaudando fondos para ayudar a sus hijos, sus familias y su esposo a hacer el viaje al norte desde el sur de Texas y asi cumplir su deseo de volver a casa. Muchos de los miembros de la familia nuestra querida Ruthy han estado sin empleo debido a la pandemia de COVID 19 y ahora se encuentran tambaleándose por las consecuencias de este horrible virus que se ha cobrado la vida de su amada. La familia espera que en su corazón pueda ayudar con los gastos de viaje de la familia para que todos puedan hacer el viaje para poner a descansar finalmente a quien tanto dio durante su vida.
