Articulture: Community Healing Through Art

The creative process of making art can heal an individual and unite a community. For over ten years Articulture has been creating Art and Healing programming for marginalized populations in the Twin Cities. Since the onset of the covid pandemic, and after the murder of George Floyd the levels of anxiety have been overwhelming. We know full well that right now the importance of creative expression continues to be more crucial than ever. It is not a luxury, but a mental health need.
Beginning this fundraiser, we set a funding goal of $600 by September 30. Within a week our goal has been surpassed to almost $800! After discussing our options we have decided to celebrate such donor generosity for this project by creating a new end of the month goal of $1200!
We at Articulture are amazed at the of the kindness of the community. The momentum this fundraiser has reached would not be possible without such generosity. It has truly been heartwarming.
With these added funds we want to double number, instead of 200 art kits to 400 for adults and youth. These will then be distributed to local trauma stricken communities in Minneapolis.
