Help me keep my car running

My wife, my daughter and I live in a flat on an estate, I'm 59 and partially disabled and suffer cervicular spondylosis which leaves me on constant pain and discomfort. I'm also suffer from chronic depression, not a fun mix.
Recently an old friend passed away after developing dementia, I was his only close friend and looked after him until he had to enter a home. Before that happened he was stopped from driving so gave me his car, its an old Vauxhall Astra but with help from my inlaws we put the car on the road and it opened up my life, I could actually go places which the depression stopped me from doing as crowds of people were an issue for me, also I could get to the car easily, getting to a station means a lot of walking which I simply cannot do.
The car has been a godsend for us as I could take my daughter to University meetings which has been hard for her because she is a healthy recovering anorexic which left her with stomach issues and other mental health stuff.
Sadly my mother in law developed dementia and her carer daughter also suffers severe body dysmorphia issues as well and extreme paranoia etc, all this more care and it took a toll on their savings and so as of January I will have to sell the car as they cannot help us any longer, the car is a lifeline for us and especially for me as I can get to go out rather than sit in a room all day.
It would mean the world to me to have the car another year at least but I simply cannot afford the tax, insurance without their help, if some people could see their way to help it would be so appreciated. All of this is 100% true and provable, life just isn't being kind at the moment.
