Mom's Tragic Car Accident Support Fund

On Aug. 20th around lunch time, I received an unexpected call that no one is prepared to hear “Mom was in a car accident”, my mind was bombarded with thoughts of worst case scenarios. I was praying not to hear the same message I did last year about the loss of my uncle and step brother.
As you can see her car is completely totaled. She was hit by a box truck on her passenger side, the impact was so hard she was unable to get out the car herself. She had severe cuts on her chest from the glass as well as bruises along her legs, arms, and pelvic areas, minor burn marks from the seat belt.
My mom, Judy Khamphiphone is a hard-working, self-sufficient, caring, really she’s the epitome of being genuine. She is a single-mother of 4 including myself and a Grandmother of 1. My mom has always tried to “make ends meet”, now that she’s severely injured, she’s not able to return to work.
She was transported in an ambulance to a medical center nearby in Clayton County. After arriving to the medical center, I stayed with her but had to wait in the car due to the CoVid precautionary act, to make sure that she was okay. A couple of hours went by and she was still waiting. A couple of hours resulted in 11 hours, her paperwork along with any other information was lost when transitioning from first shift to second. The staff stated that there was nothing that can be done except that she would have to start the process all over again. After an extremely long day my mom was highly frustrated, in pain, and tired she was ready to go home. We wind up going to a different location in the morning. As a result, she fractured and misplaced her pelvis, her neck and her body was too stiff to move comfortably and bruising and swelling, thankfully she doesn’t have any other major injuries.
Placing her in a financial challenge, she is unable to cover rent, pay household bills, and is left to figure out how she will manage to get a new car as well as paying medical bills and attorney fees. Being in this pandemic, it is making it difficult for us to adjust. As a family, we are asking for any donations to help get my mom back on her feet and make it through this difficult time in our lives. We appreciate all the prayers and support.
Thank you
