Hi my name is Cristal and this is really hard for me to do...to ask for help and support but in this situation I cannot do this alone so I must reach out to you for help and I am so sorry I have to ask.
Today, August 28, 2020 my family was torn apart when agents representing ICE came and took my dad away early in the morning. We were not given the opportunity to say goodbye to him, all that was left behind was his work tools and a note by ICE.
Yes, my dad is an undocumented immigrant. He came to the US at age 16 in 1985 looking for a better life with his dad. Since he migrated at an early age, he has no familiar links to his country of birth. His home is here with his family in the country in which he grew up in.
For years he worked to support his family and made sure to pay taxes with his ITNF number. I only know him as a caring, supportive loving father who has always been there for us and now the real possibility that he may not be able to be there for us anymore is unbearable for me to think about. Unbearable because we need him now more than ever and he needs us too as his health has been deteriorating. Considering the current pandemic, he falls within the most vulnerable communities. He is a husband, father of US citizen children and a contributing member of our society. For those that know my dad, know that he has a big heart and is always willing to help out the best way he can.
My dad is currently being held at Adelanto Detention Center and we are not allowed to visit him due to this current pandemic.
I am currently seeking financial support to obtain legal representation to fight his deportation. The money would be utilized for legal fees and his commissary. With your donation my dad’s life in the US can be given another opportunity and we can be reunited.
