Tree Pose for the Planet

Tree Pose for the Planet by The Gaia Movement is a new social fundraising and tree planting campaign celebrating action for nature.

#treeposefortheplanet encourages people of all ages, backgrounds and body shapes to pose and photograph themselves in the yoga tree pose position. For every photo tagged online with #treeposefortheplanet, a tree will be planted through Trees for Life, here in SA.

#treeposefortheplanet reminds us of the power of putting our feet on the earth and the reconnection we can find when we take a moment to pause in nature. The campaign is a way of identifying what is at risk due to climate change as well as celebrating the landscapes and natural environments we all engage and live in.

Plant one tree for yourself, a few for your family, or many to create a forest.  Each tree = $5.

Throughout this campaign we are inviting anyone (individuals, corporates, families, school groups)to donate to support our tree planting efforts. 

The funds will be managed by The Gaia Movement - a NFP organisation based in Adelaide, Australia and founded by dancer and artist Erin Fowler. TGM will manage donations to in turn facilitate tree planting, initially in South Australia and then hopefully nationally and internationally as the campaign grows.

We will continue to communicate with supporters following the campaign to update on the progress of the trees and their positive impact on the planet. 

Tree planting is known to be one of the best actions we can take for the planet, and so we encourage you to get out and move in nature and celebrate the beautiful landscapes we still have, while helping to make the world a better place.
