Help this Afghan girl to pursue her education at Kabul’s Ariana University.
Mashal is a bright medical student who lives with her parents and two sisters in Kabul, Afghanistan. She belongs to a conservative family where she and her sisters had to fight hard to get her father’s permission to get educated. Due to this, her struggles to pursue an education started at a young age but despite all of the obstacles, she Chose to pursue her degree at a private medical University in Kabul. Her father denies her of any financial support and gave her the permission to continue her education only if she’ll pay her fees by herself- which is almost impossible. She applied for several scholarships, even got accepted for one but her father won’t allow her to accept it because he doesn’t want her to move out of the country. She held onto her dreams of becoming a doctor and had started a job at a private school. Unfortunately, she couldn’t keep up with her classes anymore because of her work schedule, which is why she had to leave that job. As a consequence, she missed many classes and the university gave her a warning that if she misses any classes in the next semester, she’ll be kicked out of the university for good. It has become almost impossible for her to pay her fees, which is why she’s reaching out to us all and asks for our help. She also needs money for transport and her books. As we all know, women in third world countries like Afghanistan struggle hard to even get an education which is why the illiteracy rate amongst women is 81%. Every woman that gets to pursue a high education, becomes a role model for every little girl in the country. Lets not forget that If we teach a woman, we’ll teach an entire generation.
