Help COVID Bakery Startup Grow
Hi everyone! Thank you for taking the time to learn about us and follow along on this exciting journey of ours. We are Paul & Maria, a couple based out of Raleigh, NC, and we've always had a dream of owning our own business. We were raised by two families that enjoy baking and cooking so it was only natural that we would find a love for it as well. When COVID-19 began and Paul lost his job, we knew we were more than capable enough to turn tragedy into triumph. So, we followed our dreams and launched our business, Mami's Baking.
In only a few short months, we have far exceeded even our own expectations and have quickly outgrown the kitchen space that we have been utilizing. To date, Mami's Baking has shipped orders to over half the country, catered multiple events, and worked alongside several local companies and universities. We are at the point where we need a space that will allow us to work a full day, and assist us in expanding our clientele.
Unfortunately, we have come to find that businesses take plenty of money to get started. We have exhausted our savings and are now paying our bills on only one salary. That’s where this GoFundMe campaign comes in. This fundraiser is purely to get our brick and mortar running, providing us with more space and the opportunity for us to have a pick up location for our local customers. To take this leap forward, we need to raise $35,0000. The funds earned will go towards our permits, equipment, and upfitting costs.
The real question here is: why contribute to us? At the end of the day, you are contributing to two young and ambitious people that have poured their hearts into this business. We love putting a smile on our customers’ faces and going above and beyond for those in our community. We believe in paying everything forward and the necessity of acting in goodwill.
