Hobbits 1200 Hike for Hospice

I (Brent Offer) am an Albany resident and have conquered the Bibbulmun track for a second time to raise funds for Albany Community Hospice. This time I was joined by my 4 sons (Callum now aged 17, Jacob 16, Aiden 14 and Michael 11). Over 6 school holiday periods, we took on the track and completed the hiking trail over three years.

I have previously raised funds for the Albany Hospital Maternity Ward and Perth Children’s Hospital and thought this time it would be great to raise money for Hospice.

The Albany Hospice is the only Community Run Hospice in Western Australia, and they need our support. Any donation will help make an impact. Donations can be a lump sum or by the km as we progress on our trek.

In the October 2020 school holidays, we walked 211km across Rottnest and then Perth to Kalamunda and on to Jarrahdale over 17 days. Over Easter 2021 we took on the next section 255km from Jarrahdale to Collie. Now we have completed the next chapters in Oct 2021, 155km from Collie to Donnelly River Village the halfway point. In 2022 Donnelly River Village to Northcliffe and then Northcliffe to Denmark. We completed in Easter 2023 by walking from Denmark to Albany (the southern terminus of the Bibbulmun Track) and then continuing on around Oyster Harbour, along the Kalgan River and finalised by a treck over the Porongurup ranges to finish at the Porongurup tea rooms. A total of 1213km.
