Dear friends, We Need your HELP!!!
SSM Helping Hands, founded out of her home in 2014 by Wendy Gutcher, has grown to well over 11,000 Facebook members including our newest venture of a Donations Depot on Gore St. This all-voluntary, non-profit charitable organisation's mission is to collect, organise & offer to those in need in our community, gently used clothing and household items as well as donated new, single-use or non-transferable personal care items.
As a result of recent events beyond our control, like the COVID-19 pandemic, forcing us to close our doors for several weeks and building maintenance issues, further restricting our ability to open our doors, SSM Helping Hands has been unable to consistently continue to be of service to the community. We were able to open with limited hours with pandemic restrictions in late May with health authority approval, however within days, we then had to close again most of June and part of July due to flooding at the depot. We have recently re-opened the depot with restricted ability due to the ongoing Covid-19 regulations.
Furthermore, as a result of these issues listed above, our financial situation has been negatively impacted as we have been unable to conduct fundraising activities in order to sustain our daily operational needs of the Depot. We need of your help!!!
SSM Helping Hands is reaching out to our community members, that we all come together and help raise funds in order that we may continue our work of serving the community and fulfilling our mission: Local people helping local people.
We continue to await our charitable status registration. No tax receipts will be issued at this time. Please provide your full name and address with your donation so we can send a tax receipt at a later date.
