Help Halli

As some of you know, over two years ago, Halli was diagnosed with Stage 4 esophageal cancer. He has been facing this difficult diagnosis with incredible courage and optimism, continuing to participate as best as possible at his work, his writing, his beloved sailing and getting together with friends (unfortunately predominantly virtually this year given COVID-19). 


All this despite the fact that he has been spending countless hours in the hospital and with doctors enduring chemotherapy, lab draws and follow-up appointments.



And if all of that wasn't challenging enough, Halli also recently had to undergo brain surgery for the removal of two tumors on his cerebellum, followed by radiation therapy to prevent a recurrence and to continue to treat a previously detected tumor on his spine.


Needless to say, the time spent undergoing and enduring these countless procedures has prevented Halli from dedicating as much attention as would be necessary on his work. Pain, nausea,and fatigue have also greatly limited his ability to focus. A couple of weeks ago, Halli developed debilitating back pain. After several visits to the ER, he was admitted to LAC+USC for testing and pain control. Results and treatment options are pending. 


Diminishing funds have made it supremely challenging for Halli to pay basic bills, much less afford alternative treatments, such as Vitamin C infusions that have been shown to fight certain cancers when administered in large and frequent doses.


While Halli thankfully has basic medical insurance thanks to Obama Care, he is in need of assistance with helping pay his rent and other living and certain medical expenses.



We understand these are unprecedented times for many as COVID-19 has affected so many of our lives, but we are reaching out to you today to ask for any donations you might be able to make to help Halli during this incredibly difficult chapter of his life. Halli's great passion has always been sailing. He does not hesitate to share this passion with anyone who is interested, happily bringing along eager amateur sailors for dolphin and whale watching! We are all praying that someday soon Captain Halli will take us out on the High Seas again! Until then, there is a great need for some monetary assistance and prayers to help him keep afloat.
