Bright Star Primary School rebuild, Uganda flood

In May of 2020 a devastating flash flood sent torrents of water down the rivers of Uganda in Africa. The raging waters also brought rock slides that destroyed virtually everything in their path including the Bright Star Primary School. The community school had played a vital role in the lives of nearly 250 kids, aged 4 to 15 and many with special needs, by giving them access to free education.
The loss of the school was a gut-punch for Schoolband George who was still grieving over the recent loss of his brother in a tragic accident. George overseas the Bright Star Primary School as a part of the Rwenzori Action for Development. He knows and loves these kids and he has dedicated his life to building a better future for them. Now he is faced with the daunting task of rebuilding with virtually no funds available.
Local officials gave George more bad news when they told him that the school's land was no longer safe or suitable for development and he would have to find a new place to build. Fortunately, suitable and has already been located and the first $4000 raised can secure it for the community.
The total goal of this campaign is to raise the $30,000 needed to purchase the land and to rebuild the Bright Star Primary School, including all 10 classrooms, restroom facilities, and an office.
