Teresa Kelly Memorial Fund for Tucker Wood
Donation protected
Teresa Kelly died peacefully in the early morning hours of September 4th, 2020. She lived a very full and happy life and had an incredible impact on so many people. She was born in Ireland in 1932, and later moved to London where she married her husband Henry Kelly. Her daughter Maureen was born in London, and the three immigrated to the United States in 1960 with no jobs, no place to stay, and only the strong hope that they would be able to build a wonderful life for themselves in the US. Not only did that dream come true for their family, but Teresa was also able to nurture, care for and help so many others create better lives themselves.
Teresa devoted herself to helping others in need. One such person is Tucker Wood, who was like a grandson to Teresa, and one of her most favorite people. Tucker could always put a smile on her face and she often spoke about how much she loved him. Tucker was diagnosed with ALS, a terminal neurodegenerative disease, 4 years ago at the age of 33. The disease progression has forced him to quit his job as a preschool teacher, and has significantly impacted his daily life and independence. Throughout Tucker’s diagnosis and progression, he has has remained positive, optimistic and hopeful; Teresa also remained hopeful, prayed for him and his family, and being the generous woman she was, wanted to do whatever she could to help them battle this devastating disease.
As Teresa wished, all Memorial Donations will go directly to the Wood family to alleviate the mounting medical bills and the expensive costs associated with Tucker’s day-to-day living and necessary care.
