John & Fiona's virtual Lands End to John O'Groats

We are continually striving to improve the experience our young people have at school with us. We know that when children first start school in reception they develop best if they can learn outside of the classroom.

They need natural light and they need to have easy access outside so that they can freely flow from the inside to out and discover the amazing world we have around us. So much can be learnt from nature, from building dens and making water shoots, balancing and climbing...playing outside allows the children to problem solve for themselves and encourages social interaction developing their language skills as well as spiritual, moral, social and cultural development.

We are converting our old nursery into our reception classroom and part of this will be to remove the majority of one wall and replace it with long glass windows and glass doors to an early years outdoor area. The Diocese of Norwich are helping to fund this but we need to raise 10% of the costs ourselves.

In a bid to raise this money John Neenan, the headteacher of St Michael's, CofE, VA, Primary and Nursery School and Fiona Tibbitt, the business manager, have challenged themselves to complete a virtual journey from Lands End to John O'Groats in 60 weeks, starting Saturday 1st August 2020 and ending Friday 17th September 2021. We will complete the journey by running and cycling all the way.
