Inspired by the late, great Madam CJ Walker, I am a young teen entrepreneur with a vision of my own. My name is Khyli Gabrielle. I was first introduced to the public, through a children's novel written in honor of my hair (by my mom) in 2016; titled "Her Natural Brown".
Since then, I have created to perfection, a haircare line specifically for hair textures like mine. I have mastered the skill of braiding hair (with or without extensions). And have since desired to officially open my own braiding salon, using exclusively my own haircare products.
This fundraiser is to help sponsor the basic needs of my grand opening. An approximate price list of the initial things I would need to start is as follows:
Cosmetology Course- $16, 500
This certificate will legally allow me to be a licensed hairstylist in my state.
Marketing Fees- $8,000
A professional marketing business will successfully help me market and target the audience directly seeking the services that my business offer.
Shop Furniture- $2,500
Although I will not initially have my own store front salon, my mom has allowed me to occupy the enclosed sun porch in our home, and use it as my own salon.
Travel Expenses- $5,000
It is very important to me, that I visit Madam CJ Walker's Villa Lawaro. I think it is culturally an astounding opportunity to experience such a historical place; and would like to visit atleast once.
Platform Fees- $2,500
Go Fund Me has been an innovative platform that has helped thousands of individuals and organizations raise funds for all different kinds of causes. As the platform has raised millions altogether, their transaction percentage fees and donations fees are necessary, yet fair.
Although I've set my goal solely on the basis of what I estimate it will cost to start, I will be grateful no matter what goal I reach, as this business is a huge passion of mine.
