Kevin Avilez, a loving father and dedicated horse professional at Stanhope Stables suffered a serious stroke while at work Thursday, 9/3/20. At the urging and approval of Nancy Henderson we have started this GoFundMe page.
Transported to Huntington Hospital, doctors immediately recognized the seriousness of his condition and transferred him to North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset where specialists in neurological blood clots were able to perform life-saving procedures to keep the clot from migrating to his heart where it surely would have been fatal.
While Kevin has made a miraculous turnaround from this horrifying and hidden danger, and his recovery from the stroke and treatment of the clot has exceeded all expectations, he still faces a long road to complete health.
He and his family need the financial support of the horse community and extended friends and acquaintances to aid in meeting the likely daunting medical expenses he will have as well as providing a lifeline for his loving family so they have the security of knowing their basic needs are being addressed during Kelvin’s convalescence.
