Feeding Program in Nicaragua

PLEASE READ!! I visited Nicaragua on a mission trip back in 2015. I met so many kids and families in several communities there. They were all so loving and full of joy, regardless of their living situations.
Currently, the kids and families we have met in Nicaragua are literally starving. They cannot find jobs or a way to support their families. My mom received this picture from a friend in Nicaragua, and it shows that their fridge is empty. This man is doing everything he can to try to feed his kids and family, but I just found out that he went 2 weeks without food. His wife is sick, losing weight, and they are concerned for her health. These families served with US missionaries for their 5+ years and are now without work due to economic devastation in Nicaragua.
Another man we know in Nicaragua is constantly in pain due to kidney stones he can't afford to have treated. Yet, this man still does everything he can to care for those around him. Earlier this year, he gave up the materials he needed for a metal roof over his house for a family to use for walls when their house was washed away in a storm.
My mom and I want to help the families we know in Nicaragua set up a feeding program for a community with 200+ kids. It costs around $400 a month to provide one nutritious meal a week for 200 children. Read that again. One nutritious meal a week! It hurts my heart to think that so many of these people, kids and adults, are going so long without food, and the food they do manage to find may not have the nutritional value that their bodies need.
Thank you in advance to anyone willing to help these people! If you can help in ANY way, that would be so appreciated. Even $1 or $5 will add up! I will be sending my own donations to the family we know in Nicaragua, but I want to keep providing a way for them to receive nutritious food. My goal is to raise $1,000 or more in September.
