Creek Fire Recovery for the Wait Family

On Saturday, September 5th the Wait Families worst fear came true. At 4am, they were forced to evacuate their beloved home and community of Big Creek as the Creek Fire raged up the canyon.  With only a few moments to spare, Toby, Stephanie, Cameron, Maddie, Mackenzie and Carson evacuated leaving everything behind.  Later that night, devastating news was received that their family home had burned to the ground with everything important to them inside. A lifetime of memories is all that remains, along with each other and the love and support of family, friends and the mountain community they cherish. You may not find a family who truly loves Big Creek more than the Wait’s.  They are family to everyone and always willing to help others. Toby is the Principal at Big Creek Elementary School and Stephanie is a teacher there. During this extremely difficult and emotional time, they need our help.
