Help Betsy and Jesse

Hi Family and Friends of Betsy and Jesse,

As you may know, Betsy and Jesse recently got an apartment ending a long period of staying with friends and family. Their home was destroyed in the Talent fire. Here is a note from Betsy and Jesse:

Jesse and I had just begun to settle into our new two-bedroom apartment in Talent.  After being there only six weeks, we have been displaced by these devastating fires.  Our place is gone.  We were able to sneak in yesterday and see the rubble for ourselves from a safe distance.  We lost all our stuff, and we’re sad about that, and it’s complicating our lives now.  But more than that loss, we are grieving the loss of what might have been. We had found a place we could finally call home.  We dreamed of a garden and being together during the holidays, supporting each other through Covid into a healthier future.  We were very happy for six weeks.

We are so grateful to our family, friends, and community for reaching out to us.  Please know that we want to stay connected and give you good information about how we are doing and what our needs are.  It’s hard to respond as timely as we would like.  Right now, we are focused on our most immediate needs and I am just beginning to apply for services.  It’s going to take time.
