Support online zine for queer artists!

Donation protected
Hello! We are :a new spelling of my name , an online zine by and for queer folks! We support queer artists of all disciplines and center people of color, especially Black people, in our work and thinking.

Our dream is for our zine to become a sustained organization that properly recognizes and compensates its artists, and we need your help for it to come true! We are asking you to support our fundraising campaign so that we can compensate our published artists, purchase our domain name, and donate to organizations that support Black and/or queer folks; right now we are fundraising to support The Audre Lorde Project, "a Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Two Spirit, Trans and Gender Non-Conforming People of Color center for community organizing, focusing on the New York City area" and the Marsha P Johnson Institute, which "protects and defends the human rights of BLACK transgender people" by "organizing, advocating, creating an intentional community to heal, developing transformative leadership, and promoting our collective power."

Here is exactly how your money will be spent:

- 45% will go towards compensating our published artists $15 per submission (not including the 3 organizers)

30% will be donated to the Audre Lorde Project and the Marsha P Johnson Institute

- 22% will go towards purchasing our domain name

- 3% will go to the :a new spelling of my name team

Since :a new spelling of my name is aiming to compensate our previous and future contributors for 2020, we hope to reach our goal by the end of 2020!

Your support gives young, queer artists the opportunity to be paid for their art, provides culturally specific, home-cooked meals to Black Trans folks that need them, and helps :a new spelling of my name continue to build this community. We are so full of gratitude for your time and support and we thank you all for helping us make this dream a reality!
