Southern Oregon Golf Course Employee Fire Relief

Dear Golf Community,
I am the regional representative for the GCSAA and represent golf course superintendents across the Northwest. I am teaming with local superintendents, Craig Hilty, Matt Grove, Laura Chancellor and Josh Loy to raise funds for their golf course crew members who have lost their homes in the Almeda Fire located south of Medford, Oregon. The recent fires taken a huge toll on communities throughout Oregon. There are hundreds of homes and many lives are still unaccounted for. The Almeda fire in Southern Oregon ravaged three communities, hitting hardest in Talent and Phoenix. Unfortunately, many of the employees of four golf courses in the area had employees that escaped with only the shirt on their back and are now left with nothing.
Employees from Rogue Valley Country Club, Oak Knoll Golf Course, Centennial Golf Club, and Stewart Meadows Golf Course had a combined eleven employees that lost a total of ten homes. Some have been able to move in with other families while others have found shelters provided by the local Red Cross. Many have young families such as Dylan Nelson of Steward Meadows. Dylan has a newborn daughter that he is frantically trying to take care of. Josh Loy, Superintendent at Stewart Meadows said Josh was able to get into the fire zone to see what he could salvage from his home and when he got there all his belongings had been looted.
Craig Hilty, Superintendent of Rogue Valley Country Club said now that so many homes have been completely wiped off this planet, there is now a huge shortage in the Rogue Valley. He is afraid many will have to leave to find a new home, thus will need to find a new job.
Proceeds of this fundraiser will be divided equally among those in need so they will be able to provide for themselves and their families and get their lives back in order. Thank you so much for considering your support.
