Mr. Marc's Funeral Expenses

Mr. Marc has been a part of our Fleur De Lis family for almost 7 years, as our carpenter and weekend maintenance coordinator.  He has completed numerous projects around the school -- including cubbies, decks, fencing, and assistance with classroom remodels -- while always ensuring the safety of the children.  He worked evenings and weekends, after his other full-time job.  Mr. Marc enjoyed working at a preschool and making a real impact on the lives of the children.

He gave the best hugs at our holiday parties and staff workdays; he was never seen without a smile.  A true gentleman with a big heart.

Mr. Marc is also Ms. Heidi's, our former Chef and now Pre-K 1 classroom teacher, fiance.  

On Saturday, September 19, Mr. Marc worked his regular morning shift at Fleur De Lis, repairing several items around the school.  He passed away unexpectedly at home that afternoon.  

This fundraiser is to help Ms. Heidi with funeral costs, which we know can be an average of $7,000-$10,000 in San Diego.  Ms. Heidi has been at Fleur De Lis for over 20 years, her daughter, Ms. Amber, our Preschool 1 teacher, and her father, Mr. Jim, our morning maintenance coordinator, are also part of our school community.  Our hearts break for them in this tragedy.
