As our country erupted in 2020 after the Murders of George Floyd, Elijah MCcain, Breyonna Taylor and so many more countless names I was activated and began gaining my voices! Speaking out for justice against these all too familiar tragedies. It’s been the greatest gift to myself. It’s been the only thing I have to offer to my community!!!!  We continue to find ourselves in a world where black men are dying, murdered, so rapidly and the cries of women of color go are silenced. Months ago I made a life altering decision and walked to a protest even as I found myself suing the City of Lancaster. This two years after I was violated by a Lancaster City Detective during one of 4 body searches conducted on me that night. I still went to the protest needing to stand tall. I never imagined I would end up on the front lines of this battle. I had been silent for two years, feeling as if I always needed others to fight for me. I will never regret that fateful day. I have endured ongoing systemic racism, harassment and constant oppression since 2002 when the Lancaster City Police and myself clashed for the first time. I was 13 and alone, now at 32 I am not alone, I have discovered my voice. Utilizing my voice has already cost me my freedom even as I sit here on home confinement. My future is filled with endless legal fees on! I am currently a POLITICAL PRISONER in my own home. On August 5th I was a speaker at a local protest standing with “Put People First” and the “Poor Peoples Campaign to End State violence when I was arrested outside of our police station for standing in a parking space........ I was detained for hours, released after several others were detained for protesting my arrest.... The police department made a statement an hour after my arrest and again an hour prior to being released WITHOU CHARGES..... On August 12th charges were filed and mailed to me. On September 14th, the day after speaking at a protest related to the justified murder of Ricardo Munoz by a Lancaster Pa City police officer, I was arrested while walking down the street with no prior knowledge of charges against me. FALSELY charged with 2 felonies and 7 misdemeanors for Rioting and Destruction. I quickly found myself fighting for my freedom with a QUARTER MILLION DOLLAR bail. Leaving my 4 kids at home wondering when their mom would be coming home. I was hidden and unprocessed by the police and the county prison personnel, not even an attorney could help me. I was alone and terrified.... I was finally released on home confinement on September 22nd.....Confined to my home 24/7 with not way to take care of my family.... 13 others were detained between September 14th and 15th. 9 served with a 1 MILLION DOLLARS. We believe that my bail and that of Alexandria Wise, a strong black Transgender Activist, were set lower to decrease any attention our higher profiles would bring.... I now ask to activate others and to help me raise attention to the suffocating racist ways of the Lancaster City Police Department.   I am a women of Color, a  Single mother of 4 and activist! I am confined with no allowances to continue to speak out for justice and the support of our community or to do the simplest basic everyday necessities such as do laundry pick up food for my family.... Please stand with me in my fight against Police Terrorism, help change this world for our future. Our Children. ...
