Help Jesse (6) fight bone cancer

Hello there and thank you for taking the time to look at this page.

I am a close friend of Isabel, Jesse’s Mum, and I wanted to start this GoFundMe to help her through what will be one of the biggest challenges of her life.

Last week, Isabel took Jesse (6) to A&E after suffering from leg pain which started off as mild but progressed over the space of a week to quite severe pain. Initially Isabel thought that perhaps Jesse was experiencing ‘growing pains’ or maybe a sprain from playing with his two siblings (Jayden 9, Laura 2).

The team at Croydon University Hospital decided to do an MRI on Jesse’s leg and unfortunately the scan results were devastating. The consultant on the case believes Jesse has osteosarcoma of the knee.

Most osteosarcomas arise from random and unpredictable errors in the DNA of growing bone cells during times of intense bone growth. There currently isn't an effective way to prevent this type of cancer.

Isabel is understandably completely devastated and not only massively concerned about Jesse’s health but also about how she is going to manage with the logistical and financial aspects to Jesse’s treatment.

Jesse has been booked in for a biopsy operation, full body MRI and CT scan at The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital this coming Wednesday the 23rd of September. Jesse will be admitted to the Sir William Coxen Ward (children) in the new Stanmore building.

What the future holds, depends largely on the results of the biopsy which I will post on here once we have received them.

Jesse has been so unbelievably brave throughout this whole ordeal. He has kept that bright, contagious little smile on his face despite his pain. Jesse is a soft, quiet little boy with a heart of gold. He adores his baby sister and looks up to his older brother. He’s faced challenges in the past with his asthma, but has always fought through it like a champ and we have faith that once again, Jesse will fight this too. Together, we will help Jesse fight a battle he should never have had to fight.

I am appealing, please, to anyone who can help Isabel with the costs involved at this stage and the costs that are yet to come. Currently, Jesse is unable to walk which means trying to fund transport to and from the hospital plus the costs involved in keeping her afloat as she is now unable to work.

If you are unable to donate, a thought or a prayer would be appreciated more than you know.

I will update in a few days but for now, thank you so much for reading/donating if you can.
