Towne Connections

As the holidays approach, Franklin Towne students, staff, and community members are raising funds and collecting food to provide meals and necessities to struggling Towne families.

According to FeedingAmerica.org, the Coronavirus pandemic has left millions of families without stable employment. More than 50 million people, including 17 million children, may experience food insecurity in 2020.  

We would like to raise money to provide meals to Towne families who would otherwise struggle to put together a holiday meal.

Please consider donating what you can to help support members of our community in the greatest need. 

Additionally, we will be collecting food donations on Saturday, December 12.  Weather permitting,  we will set up bins in the Tacony Street parking lot at the high school. Please drop off canned goods and nonperishables between the hours of 12:00 pm and 2:00 pm.  Food collection will be conducted in a socially distant manner, observing all safety protocols.

At this time, we are welcoming emails from our Towne families who are facing particularly tough times and would be grateful for a food basket or help with holiday gifts.  If you would benefit from our help, or if you know of another struggling Towne family, please write a note explaining why the help is needed and how we can help your family.  If you are writing for another Towne family, please include why the help is needed, how we can help, and the student’s name.  Remember, Towne Connections is limited to Towne families only.
