This fundraiser is organized by concerned and loyal Will's Pub patrons.
It seems like yesterday we were all crowded into Will’s front room, enjoying the music of one of our favorite local or touring bands. But it wasn’t yesterday, it was NINE MONTHS AGO. Since then, this iconic watering hole, music hall, and cultural hub has been on the verge of closing its doors. Struggling to follow the strict Covid guidelines that keep us all safe, the Will’s compound was closed for several months, and then reopened only for package sales, and more recently limited ticket shows and events. But this has not generated enough income to pay staff, rent, and utilities. We are in danger of losing OUR PLACE.
Not that anyone who knows Will needs to be told this, but we should consider the good work he does for us and our community. The benefits for those of us in trouble, the promotion of up-and-coming local musicians and artists, the donation of time and space to local non-profits, the markets for local chefs and crafts people. We ask, and Will gives. Now it’s our turn.
Also, Will's is CURRENTLY OPEN. Very carefully socially distanced and safe events are being held. Pick up package booze or have a drink. There's a new pool table! Food is coming! Happy Hour is on the horizon! Please support Will's by continuing to be a patron (to your Covid comfort level, of course).
We are also planning a future benefit: an amazing food, cocktail and sensory experience. More information and ticket sales to come soon. It will be the most memorable event of 2021! But this event and so many other's we love -- Southern Fried Sundays, Punk Rock Flea Market, Will’s A Faire, Mayhem on Mills Wrestling, and all the amazing music -- will be gone if Will has to close the doors.
We don’t take asking for money lightly, and we know so many folks are struggling. But if we want any semblance of normal life back when this Covid thing is over, we need to ensure Will’s is there for us. Give what you can.
