Help the Roderer fam through Mantle Cell Lymphoma

UPDATE:
Hi Everyone! I am updating this on March 16th 2021. There has been some amazing steps forward along this journey, along with some devastating set backs. Unfortunately my brothers family has come across another hurdle in his cancer journey.  Healthcare and Insurance.

Tim has one more round of chemo left, making this his 6th round followed by a stem cell transplant that will put him in the hospital for around the clock care for close to a month. His short term disability in expiring so he applied for long term which was next in line with protocol. He was denied. The insurance is claiming that his cancer is a "pre existing condition". This is confusing and frustrating and appeals with lawyers have already begun. This has put tremendous stress on his family as he will now have to pay for his employer insurance at the COBRA rate which is quoted at $2000 a month for the duration in which he remains out of work due to his cancer treatments. He will also have lost wages of all income along with this while still having to pay for the $2000 premium and maintain a household and all bills while taking care of 5 children. With the massive premiums on his last chemo round, doctors visits, medicine and his stem cell transplant this is costly. As some of you know cancer is an incredibly expensive disease that they have been able to keep up with paying, but now with the insurance hurtles and loss of all wages he is feeling overwhelmed. Without insurance coverage, he will also no longer be able to travel down to MD Anderson in Houston for life saving advances without paying out of pocket as well. While we are incredibly grateful and have cried a tremendous amount of happy tears for the outpouring of love and support for my brother we are unfortunately not out of the woods yet! Although we are close! Thank you all for reading and know we appreciate any help he can get for him and his family. Thank you!

Hello everyone! I have started this Go Fund Me to help my brother and his family during this difficult time, so they can focus on getting Tim healthy without worrying about the financial burden it may take.

As some of you know, Tim was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive cancer called Mantle Cell Lymphoma of the Blastoid Variant on 11/20. His cancer has already progressed to a stage 4 in just a weeks time. It has unfortunately traveled to his stomach, intestines, spine, kidneys, bone marrow and spleen amongst other things. But there is HOPE! On 11/27 he was admitted to Butterworth hospital in Grand Rapids. The doctors deemed him not strong enough for chemo so they will be doing dialysis on his kidneys as soon as possible and hopefully start his Chemo directly after followed by a Stem Cell Transplant. Currently he is not healthy enough to travel down to M.D Anderson in Houston, a hospital that specializes in his rare form of cancer. Obtaining treatment at M.D Anderson is our ultimate treatment goal which we will keep you updated on.

But we need your help!
I know $20,000 seems like a hefty goal, but between his current insurance coverage , deductibles, co-insurance responsibilities and hospital stays, these medical bills have begun and will continue to add up quickly. In addition to that, he still has the responsibility of taking care of home as well as his 5 children and is not able to work at the moment. My sister-law (his wife) was diagnosed with Parkinsons 3 years ago and is unable to work. She is a full time mom and has now become his full time caretaker as well.

Tim and Stefanie are two of the most giving people I have ever known. They are foster parents and have 5 beautiful children, one with a disability and 3 of which  they have adopted. They have dedicated their lives to giving and loving others. Any contribution no matter the size to help them out would be extremely helpful and greatly appreciated.

Please feel free to share this Go Fund Me with your friends and family to help lift up the Roderer family in their time of great need.

Thank you for reading and I love you all.
