Helping the Homeless for the Holidays

MISSION: With the increasing rate of unemployment due to Covid-19 we would like to support Giving Hope Inc of Denton. This organization assists the affected families of Denton through rental, mortgage, and utility assistance. The pandemic has caused an increased risk of losing one’s home or apartment. They support at risk families who may not want to ask for assistance. Their mission statement encapsulates this sentiment, “Respect for human dignity which drives us to promote self-reliance that cultivates self-respect.”


As students of the University of North Texas, Denton holds a special place for us. We've seen many people in our community struggle with the current pandemic and its effects, this is why we have chosen to work with Giving Hope, Inc. Approaching the giving season, they have a special campaign called "Home for the Holidays" which benefits the homeless community in Denton County.

We're raising money to contribute to Giving Hope, Inc. as they work to permanently change lives, rather than providing temporary shelter. Our goal is to deliver prevention and intervention that results in more than a place to stay but the means to stabilize.

They help with grocery assistance, household goods, cleaning supplies, and safety supplies to ensure they are able to become self-sufficient and comfortable. We strive for continuous improvement so that we can model the integrity and accountability we hope to encourage in our community.
