Small Town Girl With Big Tour Dreams

Hey!

I'm Casey MacNeil (24) from Sudbury, Ontario, Canada.  I've been playing golf since the age of six and have always dreamed of competing against the best golfers in the world.

I grew up in the countryside outside a small town where my mom taught me how to golf on the land in our backyard. Being the youngest in a big family, I quickly learned how to hit the ball far to keep up with my brothers and be competitive. I started competing in tournaments at the age of 10 and it quickly became my favourite thing in the world. At the age of 12 my parents and I started traveling to bigger provincial and national junior tournaments; in order to afford these tournaments, my parents had to make strict financial sacrifices, and I learned at a young age that if I wanted something in life, I was going to have to work hard for it and that it wouldn't be easy. By the end of my junior golf career I was ranked as one of the top junior girls in Ontario, earning me a full NCAA Division 1 golf scholarship. I turned professional after graduating university in 2016. 

Last season I missed advancing to the second stage of 2018 LPGA qualifying by a single shot over 72 holes. With that finish, I was awarded conditional status on the Symetra Tour for the 2019 season. So far I have been fortunate enough to compete in four Symetra Tour tournaments, which has been a life changing experience for me as a player and as an individual. These accomplishments were completed while balancing a job as an assistant golf professional at the Timberwolf Golf Academy, and couldn't have been made possible without the positive support of everybody in my life.

I have decided to start a GoFundMe campaign in the hopes of raising $10,000 for the 2019 LPGA qualifying tournaments; to offset the costs of travel, accommodation, and entry fees.

LPGA Qualifying Dates:
 
Stage I: August 19 – August 25, 2019 -  Entry Fee $2500 USD
Palm Desert, CA

Stage II: October 12 – October 17, 2019  - Entry Fee $4000 USD
Venice, FL. 
            
Stage III: October 21 - November 2, 2019 Pinehurst, NC.

I know this season ended abruptly with the car accident in California but I could use the support more than ever to recover and rebuild for next season. Losing the tour status I had because of missing LPGA Q School will set me back to options such as mini tour tournaments which are only based in southern united states and Monday LPGA qualifiers .
