Jim Malfregeot’s heroic story in a new faith inspired film.

Let’s face it:  The respect for life, law, and authority is rapidly evaporating.  Now more than ever, a collective plea for community vigilance is needed.

The call to “See Something, Say Something” is nothing new. In fact, it’s very Biblical.

“Christians have a responsibility to look out for the well-being of each other.  We are commanded to, in a sense, ‘See Something, Say Something.’ That’s why Councilman Malfregeot’s story is so significant,” says Jason Campbell, President of JCFilms.

On the evening of September 13, 2020, Clarksburg, WV Councilman Jim Malfregeot’s wife was getting in her vehicle at their home on Main Street, to take her mother home, when she was carjacked by a convicted felon.

Malfregeot opened the kitchen window to say something to his wife Brenda, when he first saw the assailant come down the driveway with a handgun.  He then rushed out the house to protect his wife and mother-in-law.  During the abduction, Malfregeot was shot once in the abdomen, and his wife and mother-in-law were car jacked.

Fortunately, this random shooting and kidnapping ended with an arrest and Malfregeot ultimately recovered from his serious wounds.  But now, Malfregeot’s family is taking their story to the big screen to help and encourage vigilance in our communities.

“This is such an honor, and I hope the message of this film inspires awareness. There is a fine line between vigilance and this “mind your own business” culture; I hope this film can help define the difference,” says Councilman Malfregeot.

The film is being tentatively titled ‘Jim Malfregeot’ and production is set to start in March 2021 in Clarksburg, WV.  The film will feature actor Dean Cain.  Recently, Cain met with Malfregeot and heard the entire story and said he was excited about working on the film project.

In addition, Joe Estevez, an American actor, director, and producer has agreed to play Malfregeot in the film.  Some may remember that Joe’s younger brother, Martin Sheen, filmed a movie locally in Clarksburg, WV back in 1972.
