Jesse Kat Needs Chemotherapy

Donation protected
Jesse has to raise funds to help her get through six months of chemotherapy. This is the third time in her life that she's had cancer, and she currently has two kinds: lymphoma and leukemia. She's only 35, so she's spent a huge portion of her life - since age 5 - dealing with cancer. She had been told that chemotherapy wouldn't have any effect on one of them, but as she was treating the other kind, the "untreatable" one started to respond.

Her health insurance was cut off just as the chemo was beginning to help. She had expected to be spending the year after her diagnosis doing whatever was needed to focus on dying and how to have her service dog (Scotch) and her two cats cared for, then got the news that both cancers were responding. She was starting to think she may not be dying after all, and then the insurance was stopped by the person who had put her on theirs. It was a domestic violence situation she was trying to survive long enough to not be homeless or without palliative care, but that person took that option away.

She has insurance again now, but cannot afford all the meds, at-home help and other living expenses for the next six months and a couple of months after for recuperation. She needs a lot of support in addition to financial, like walking her service dog every day and helping with groceries and meal prep. Also boring stuff like laundry and general tidying. She has been trying to work doing home health care, but has had her arm broken on the job, been forced to do patient care she's not trained in, and is exposed to every bug her clients and their homes have. She can't do all that with no immune system and being sick from chemo.

She's pretty much the sweetest person I've ever met in my life, and has survived foster care, cancers, stalkers, domestic violence and things most people cannot imagine. She has to start chemo again immediately, having been off it involuntary for a month, or it may not have any effect. If anyone deserves a chance to live a few more years, it's Jesse.

Thank you for whatever you can give over the next few months. We're all struggling, but Jesse is at that life/death crossroad right now.
